EHR,
established in 2008, is currently working in the districts of Buikwe to mention
but a few, an area with an estimated population of more than 10-11 million
people. The population of Uganda, estimated to be 37 million people in 2014,
was projected at almost 39m (2017) at an average annual growth rate of 3.24%.
Half of the population is aged 15 years and below; 87% of the total population
is rural and 31% live in poverty. The current population growth rate is likely
to prevent a steady improvement in the quality of life of individual families,
a fact that has been evidenced in the communities EHRI is working in. EHRI
retains the faith based Character of the founder members, thus remains rooted
in the foundation of Jesus Christ, but serving all people with no
discrimination on the basis of religion, tribe, race and sex. The CBO equips
and builds capacity of Women and Youth to better place themselves fight all
forms of human rights violence. About 1000 people have been reached through
Human rights campaigns and 500 through Economic empowerment to help in
mitigation of challenges and effects of HIV/AIDS
